Family Friday: If I Had a Million Dollars...

Not much to report this week.  Voodoo is officially in heat...we kinda suspected it last week because of some behaviors (a more voracious appetite, licking herself incessantly, Obi being unable to stop sniffing her backside, and the humping that she did for about a weekend)...but it is officially true because I have found a few bloody spots around the house, on my clothes when we snuggle, etc.  Oh well.  :)  I love my puppies anyway.  Sometimes I still get surprised how much they look like one another when they don't have any breeding at all in common:

Cerene and Paul switched to a 6-3 shift until the end of the month (Paul until December), so our schedules have been a little crazy with all the changes but that's about it. I crafted a little.  I learned to tickle Caida awake if I want her in a good mood.  We spent Sunday evening with our good friends Marcus and Laura and had a great time having dinner together and just catching up.  We are saving money for the FEAST so we haven't done much by way of group entertainment, although Paul and I started watching Castle and we RedBoxed Thor...

...and we still have no bathroom.  We are a handful of days away from the 30 day allowance we legally have to give them, and are still figuring out what to do afterwards.

SO.  Instead of pictures of family events, 'cause there haven't really been any this week, I was inspired by a Castle episode to write about what we each would do if we were to inherit $1,000,000.  Great quote from the show--"Money doesn't change who you are, it just magnifies your personality."

I wonder what that says about us!  :)

ME: I suppose I'm just a very selfish person at heart, or at least that the cares of this world have quite a hold on me, because I would pay off all our debts, get to a doctor about some health issues, get Paul back into school, rent a nice apartment far away from here (and save some money for a house, but we wouldn't settle anywhere just yet...), buy us TWO new cars so we could each have one, go on a "little" shopping spree for all the things we reeeeeaalllly want, give a little to family members that have always given so much support to us, and then put the rest into savings for a rainy day...dipping into it, of course, with a weekly allowance and a few trips around the world.  And then I'd go to work while Paul studies, finishes his degree, and we both work as teachers until we have or adopt kids, at which time I'd become a stay-at-home-mom, with anything that happens to be left over just a bonus but not relying on it because we are stable enough without it to manage for ourselves and our family, including college and mission funds all around.  At which point MAYBE then I'd think about a charity or something.  I know, I'm terrible.  But, I'm honest.

PAUL: Pay off loans, then invest and try to make that $1 million into $2 million without having to actually work.  :)  Retire so we can go on a mission. (Ooh, he's good!)  Buy share in Netflix. (Genius!  Can we go back in time about two or three years and get in on that sweet action?)

What about you?  Honestly, with a million dollars, what could you do?  What WOULD you do?
