Felt Changeable Frame Kits!

Okay, I still have more felt projects on the way...but I'm pretty excited about this!  It seriously looks SO cute, AND it doubles as decor and a toy!  I introduce to you:

THE FELT PHOTO FRAME!

I've seen some pretty felt frames on the internet, but this one is original and special--because it's changeable!  That's right, you can move the pieces around and (tried and true) create a unique frame every day of the week.  Or more often, I've never been good at the permutations kinda math.  :)  The best part?  You can do this in under an hour.

HERE'S HOW:

You will need:

*Flat frame with thick border (Walmart has squares, rectangles, AND hearts right now for less than a dollar!)
*Assorted sheets/scraps of felt (I STRONGLY recommend a theme, be it color, like pink/black/white shown here, or what you have for your nursery/kids' rooms/bathroom/whatever, like jungles/LEGOs/under-the-sea.  It'll make all the pieces flow together better!)
*Marker (use a thinner one than I pictured, it bleeds through!)
*Scissors
*Hot glue or fabric/craft glue

Have everything together?  Let's get started!

1. Take your frame out of the packaging, take out the insert part and any glass, and trace the outline of the frame onto the back of your felt.

2. Cut out the frame shape.

3. Use this as your template, if you want to make more than one background.  AND/OR, use the center as a template for a mini-frame, that's half the width of the actual frame but has the same picture window size...see pictures of the final product below to get an idea of what I mean.

4. Glue your original felt background down onto the frame.  You can paint the frame first if you want, but I didn't worry about it for this project.
5. Cut out any embellishments you want!  I used patterned felt (a time saver!), so cutting out the stars, polka dots, peace signs, and guitar/music stuff was easy peasy!  I also made hearts out of zebra print felt, and cut out the letters of Caida's name with sparkly pink felt.  Oh yeah, and I made some crayons!  :)
See the mini frames above?  They REALLY add a special touch to the kit.

6. Assemble however you want!  Mix and match backgrounds and embellishments.  The felt sticks to itself, even when the frame is upright, so you can change it up as often as you like and it'll stay!  I made this

all from the same "kit!"

7. Put all your unused pieces in a baggie and store it in a drawer or in a basket on the shelf near the frame so your kiddos (or you!) can dress it up again and again whenever you want.

That's it!  I told you it was easy.  :)  Now, go make one of your own--and if you do, share with me so I can see your creations!

Caida sure did have fun with it!
Happy crafting!  Linking up HERE and HERE!
