Pincushions!

So, now that I'm starting to rediscover the art of sewing, I have lots of pins and needles that I needed to sort.  And I needed pincushions!  So, first I thought I'd crochet one.  I looked all over for adorable pincushions (and found a TON), but got sidetracked when I saw this crocheted beehive.  Our friend, Shean, was in town from Denver, CO, for Charissa's graduation, and he has a thing for bees.  Every time we see anything with bees we think of him.  So I whipped this up for a little going-away-again gift.  :)

I love this little bee!  :)

As I began my online search again, this tutorial for a jar pincushion popped up.  It was EASY, fast, simple, and pretty much a no-brainer.  It used up some of the smaller scraps of ribbon/fabric I have, AND it was the perfect way to separate/store my straight pins and my safety pins!  I'm happy with how it turned out, although I sort of improvised the instructions so the jar doesn't close as tightly as it did before...but it's awfully cute, and it'll do.
Now I'll never have to turn the house upside down to find that random package of safety pins, either!

I have no reason to make a million of these, but I swear I could.  :)  Linking up HERE.
