2nd Anniversary!

Paul and I had to celebrate our anniversary today since (A) tomorrow's Sunday and we don't really do things like shopping/eating out/playing on the Sabbath, and (B) family will be in town for Charissa's graduation and we want to be available to hang out with them!

It was a fun afternoon...the only downside?  We're both slightly injured!  Paul twisted his ankle last Saturday night and hasn't quite felt normal since, and on top of that he got a bad cold sore in his mouth that makes eating and kissing (our two favorite things, especially on special days like this) very painful!  As for me, I fell asleep on the couch and woke up with bad, bad back pain.  Even a combination of several pain killers throughout the day hasn't really helped much.  :(  So we're pretty exhausted from even the few things we did.

Oh well, it was still fun!  First we went to Spageddie's, a nice Italian restaurant in town:
(No more pictures, because we were too busy enjoying a delicious meal and canoli!)

Then, we headed to All Fired Up, a paint-your-own pottery place.  I SO LOVE THAT PLACE!  Even though it's too expensive to really go very often, we've been there once or twice a year since we started dating, and I'll miss it.  Of course, Chicago has several of these types of places and at similar prices, so we'll still have something like it...but this place has the memories, y'know?  :)

Anyway, Paul made himself a RYLA mug (based on the colors/logo of his place of work)...
(The colors will fire much darker!)

...and I made myself a Cookie Monster dunk mug!

It will look way better once it's been all fired up!

I was particularly fond of my word art.  :)

Then we came home, napped, went to the adult session of Stake Conference (a church thing), and grabbed some Cold Stone--me, mint cookies and cream in a waffle bowl, and Paul, a mango-banana smoothie.  Maybe if the weather is nice tomorrow we'll enjoy the sunshine together!  Or maybe we'll just be swamped with family stuff.  Whatever we do, I'm glad I get to do it with Paul, the love of my life!  I'm so lucky to be married to my very best friend, and I've loved (almost) every minute of the last two years together!  Here's to the rest of eternity!
