Okay, I LOVE books and it sort of hurts me inside to think about cutting up any of the ones I own. But when I saw this book clock months ago
I knew I wanted to make one, too, and I thought, okay, maybe I'll go get some of those big, ugly books from GoodWill for hecka cheap and get my craft on! If you're a lover of books, why NOT show that off--get a few involved in your decorating and crafts? Here are 10 ideas to get you started!
10. Altered books! We learned about these in my elementary art class...they're so fun! And as open-ended as you want it to be.
9. What about a board book birdhouse?
8. Check out this (really funny!) bookshelf!
7. How about a pretty frame (would be a nice little mirror, too)?
6. You can turn books into furniture! (I like the headboard.)
5. I mentioned this already, but why not make a beautiful clock from (a copy of) your favorite book?
4. Paper crafts! Just about every blog I've been to has some version of paper rosettes, and you can use the book paper for just about any other paper crafting, too!
3. How fun are these book planters? :)
2. How about this book purse? You just hollow out the pages, add soem fabric lining with a wedge on the sides so it can open, and add some handles. I may just have found my new purse idea!
1. Carve out a secret compartment, or turn the sectioned book into a sewing box!
BONUS IDEA: I just *LOVE* this wall of books, at Brushstroke in NYC! (I'd probably like it even better if I could see the spines instead...that phone-book-yellow is not my favorite!)

Just found your blog on pinterest...such fun ideas! I loved the book clock when I saw it too. I made one and I love it!
