Digital Scrapping

In case you didn't already know this, I love to scrap, and digital scrapbooking is even better.  :)  Just wanted to share a few pages of the holidays.  (If you click on them, you can see them bigger and read the text.)

This is my first digital two-page spread...I kinda love it.  :)

And using the "I Love Rock & Roll" kit from Connie Prince (one of my favorite scrapbook designers EVER):

You can tell I find a few layouts that I love and sort of stick with them.  I especially like layouts where I can put a bunch of picture all together on one page--not that having one small, overly embellished photo in the corner of a page isn't beautiful or artistic!  But, to me, the whole purpose of scrapbooking is to show your life through pictures and journaling, and with the cost of scrapping so high, who can afford one photo per page, anyway?  :)  Someday I want to learn how to design my own kits and maybe join a creative team, but for now, scrapping my own life keeps me busy enough.  :)

Our Maybe-Baby :)

No, we're NOT pregnant!

But I can't help dreaming about it, anyway.  I've used several sites to try to figure out what our kids might look like, but this was the first one that (a) didn't have any strings attached (no fees, downloads, log-ins, etc.), and (b) seemed semi-"scientific" (meaning they didn't just mash two pics together, but they asked you to define the boundaries of the eyes, nose, lips, jaws, and hairline, so I felt they were going to have something a little more accurate).  The address is http://www.morphthing.com/morph . I also used baby pics of Paul and me instead of grown-up ones, since kids come out babies, and I'll compare them with our grown-up alternatives.  Anywho, without further ado...

(Little Lillie Pearl?)

To compare, here's our grown-up pictures morphed together (which came out a boy instead of a girl, and a little older, too...so this would be Aiden Michael?)

If you look at them side-by-side, they DO look like they could be siblings...not too shabby, morphthing!  (But a little creepy. Kinda.) :)

See you someday, kiddos! Hahaha...

Ringing in 2011...Rockband Style!

Our good friends Marcus and Laura Kenney invited us over for pizza, fondue, and Rockband 3 for New Year's Eve.  Laura and I used to be roommates, back before I even started at Purdue, and it's been fun to catch up with each other once in a while and hang out.  They're only across town and a ward away, but our schedules don't really overlap much, not to mention none of us are incredibly social creatures.  But the four of us click really well, and they're one of the few childless, not-pregnant-and-not-soon-to-be couples we know, so we could party hard and ring in the new year in style.  :)

The best part?  We got to dress up!  Paul and I raided Walmart as soon as he got off work and got cheap shirts, his awesome hat, my denim mini skirt, etc...altogether, our outfits only cost about $20-$25 total!  (And now we have a Halloween costume for next year, too...or at least something to build upon!)

Thanks again, Marcus and Laura, for letting us come over!  We had a blast!  It was a great start to 2011...and I'm hoping the best is yet to come!

ANOTHER awesome start to 2011--my little sister, Cerene, got engaged at the stroke of midnight!  We are SOOOOO happy for her and James, and Caida, too!  AND I get to do the flowers and photography!  SOOO happy!

Christmas 2010, Take 4 (and final)

Here are some pics from our fourth and final Christmas!

I spent 5 hours baking SOOOOO many cookies!  (Yeah, not so good for that New Year's Resolution of being healthy, I know...but, to be honest, I hadn't eaten much in the way of holiday goodies this year, and I hadn't baked ANYTHING myself, so...it was time. I'll start once these cookies are all gone.  At the very least, our Primary kids will score big on Sunday. :)

Homemade Oreos

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip

Chocolate crinkle cookies---my new favorite holiday goodie!

Gingerbread men...gonna have to tweak this recipe a bit, I wasn't too satisfied with the taste.
Of course, sugar cookies.

We decorated the sugar cookies while listening to Christmas music!
Emilie and Ian taking it seriously.  :)

Paul's artistic nature came out.

Proud of his Christmas tree. :)

Em showing off her goods. :)

My cookies...

We opened stockings and presents.

Small stocking stuffers...
Modeling her scarf.

SOOO happy with the Yoshi pants. :)
Pretty perfect body pillow.  :)

Ian's odds and ends...

Ian found some Star Trek comics for Paul, which made him automatically awesome.

And he painted a picture for me.  :)

Paul got me a small, lightweight sewing machine, which is perfect since I don't sew much but I wanted some for small projects and such.  :)

Still sooo happy. :)
And then we watched Stalking Santa, a Darland family favorite.

SO sad the holidays are now officially over and we'll have to put up our tree and decorations for another 11 months!
