Hey Celeste!! I am sooo impressed with how crafty you are! I wish i was just as crafty :).
ReplyDelete#5 and #6 are really pretty! How did you make these?
They're super easy, actually. I have a TON of silk flowers for my flower business, and basically you hot glue some pipe cleaner bodies, wooden bead heads, and felt shirts/hair to the three different flowers in each doll. Then stitch the shirt together. A friend of mine made one for me, and I fell in love with them...spent a whole two days just making a bunch for myself! :) If you want to know more specifics, such as which flowers are used for specific dolls, etc., I can let you know.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not really that crafty...I steal 87% of my ideas from other people. :) But I DO enjoy creating things with my own two hands. Thanks!
Cute! I asked Tatum which one she liked the best...and she said #6. : )
ReplyDelete#7 was my for SURE favorite! I love making fairies too.:) One trick I learned recently was how to wrap the pipe cleaners with embroidery floss, and you can make the little gals shirts fit a bit better if you wrap a tiny bit of cotton/batting/tissue/etc around their middle and attatch with thread and needle.:) What did you use to draw on their faces? I usually use fine tip sharpies, but it comes off really easy. I tried a toothpick, but my fingers weren't nimble enough. What did you do?
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway!
I used regular sharpies...except on the Black ones, I used toothpicks dipped in acrylic. I'm not a very good seamstress (I stuck myself several times with the needle just making these) so I don't know if I could apply your ideas, but I know the one you made me is WAY cuter and better than any I made myself. :)
ReplyDeleteOh pish posh. I love your little ladies!:) Isn't there something so magical about making little fairies?:) I feel so ten-year-old-crafting-Clair again when I do it.:) I made some for a fair once and had to keep one set of mamma and baby fairies because they were too much like me and Baby ALice. I think I have a Toy Story complex, just a bit.:)
