Today I know quite definitively at least ONE reason we were feeling so strongly like we ought to stay here. My sister and her fiance broke up--quite a nasty break-up, too, at least on his part--and she and my niece would have no where to go, at least with a space they could call their own, if we had moved to another state. We don't have much, but we DO have a spare room and a lot of love! Now we're working on redoing that back room to be a Caida-and-Mommy space, so they can live with us for a while--maybe even the whole year! I am thrilled, personally--for Cerene, for being so brave and standing up for herself in a bad, difficult situation, but also for me (I know, that's totally selfish). When we resigned our lease, I did not foresee any of this. I also didn't see any teaching jobs in the area opening up, but now it's at least a possibility...meaning I could interview for a handful of positions that didn't exist just a few weeks ago. (Has it really been only a couple of WEEKS? Sheesh.) Now we've got a full house--three adults, a six-year-old, and two dogs in a two-bedroom apartment. Strangely, though, my happiness is inversely proportional to the amount of space we have to ourselves...and if we can't have kids right now, then this is a good alternative to me. :)
The Lord always has a plan, friends. Even if we don't see it, or feel it, or just plain don't like it, fear not. He's workin' His mysterious ways, and I'm glad--better Him than me!
Wonderful Celeste! I am glad things are all falling into place. Good luck with your upcoming interviews!
